dorlonging / yearning

Dor is a unique Romanian word that doesn't have a direct, single-word translation in English. It encapsulates a deep sense of longing, yearning, and nostalgia, often for something or someone lost or absent.

In the song, the artist sings, "Simt că mor ușor / Eu și tu un vis mai știi când mi-ai promis / Că n-o să mor de dor" (I feel like I'm slowly dying / You and I, a dream, do you remember when you promised me / That I wouldn't die of longing). This highlights the intense emotional weight of dor, making it a powerful and culturally significant word to learn.

Mario and Misha Miller's "E ok sa" is about the quiet ache of a connection that felt like it should have gone further. Two strangers meet, fall into an easy rhythm together, and for a moment it feels like more than a passing thing.

Then it slips away. The singer admits they never really had the other person, only the wanting of them, and keeps replaying the memory instead of the relationship. The repeated line "e ok sa..." (it's ok to...) is the singer talking themselves into peace with that: it's ok to miss someone from a distance, as long as the longing itself doesn't have to be the end of them.
