SONG MEANING

Get ready for a deeply personal and emotional song from Colombian rock star, Juanes. 'Madre' is like reading a private letter written from a son to his mother who has passed away. Juanes opens his heart, sharing his sadness and the emptiness he feels without her. He misses her guidance and the simple comfort of talking to her when he feels lost.

However, the song is ultimately a message of hope and strength. It’s about how the memory of a loved one can become a guiding light. For Juanes, his mother's memory is a powerful source of energy and courage. He describes it as a 'luz por dentro' (an 'inner light') that helps him find his way through dark times. And in a beautiful tribute to his art, he explains how he transforms this inner light: 'pero por fuera es canción'... on the outside, it becomes a song. He turns his personal grief and love into the music you're about to hear.
