SONG MEANING

La Bilirrubina is a joyful, tongue-in-cheek confession of lovesickness. The singer rushes to the hospital with fever, yellow skin and a skyrocketing bilirubin count, but every X-ray and injection is useless because the real problem is mal de amores — being hopelessly in love. With lively Caribbean rhythms, he tells the nurse that only his sweetheart’s kisses can work better than any serum, vitamin or aspirin.

Through playful medical metaphors, the lyrics turn a classic love predicament into a fun bedside comedy. The rising bilirubin represents the excitement and anxiety of unreturned glances, while the call for a “catéter” filled with affection shows how love can feel like both a disease and its own cure. It is an upbeat reminder that sometimes chemistry in the heart overrules actual chemistry in the lab, and the only prescription is to dance, sing and surrender to romance.
