"I Don't Miss You" is JP Saxe's honest look at the gap between what we say after a breakup and what we actually feel.

The title is the joke, and the whole song points at it. Every time the narrator insists "I don't miss you," he immediately follows it with proof that he does: fantasizing about her, thinking about her all the time, seeing her face when he closes his eyes. He's not lying on purpose. He genuinely believes the denial, even as the lyrics keep undercutting it.

The verses add the quieter, more uncomfortable detail: he's moved on to someone new, but she still shows up as an "undertone," a comparison he can't help making. That's the real subject of the song. It's not about wanting an ex back. It's about how a past relationship can linger in your head long after you've told yourself, and everyone else, that you're over it.
