megamalinconico — mega-melancholic

Megamalinconico is a striking and somewhat playful neologism, combining the prefix "mega-" (meaning very large or great) with "malinconico" (melancholic).

It's not a standard Italian word, making it unique and memorable. In the song, Fedez uses it to describe a "finale megamalinconico" (a mega-melancholic ending), vividly conveying an intensely sad or dramatic conclusion to a relationship. This creative word choice perfectly captures the song's emotional depth and modern, colloquial style.

"CRISI DI STATO" ("State of Crisis") turns a political phrase into a love song. Fedez describes a relationship that feels as chaotic and consuming as a government collapse, comparing his partner to a personal crisis he can't escape and doesn't really want to.

The lyrics lean on images of decay and waste: roses tossed in the trash like April promises, sleepless nights, an unraveling of the calm life he had before. He references Marcello Mastroianni and Sophia Loren, the glamorous couple of Italy's golden cinema era, only to admit his own romance is far from that fairy tale.

The repeated hook, "Mi fai, mi fai, mi fai" ("you make me, you make me, you make me"), captures the obsessive, back-and-forth pull of the relationship, love and damage tangled into the same feeling.
