Then the money runs out, and the song turns. While he was at the top everything was fine. Now that there is no cash, he has nothing left to give and the phone stops ringing. That silence is the whole answer.
What follows is what the silence does to a person. He trusts no one, because people who ask for a finger take an arm. He tells them to delete his number and stay away from his house. He is sure they want the money in his pocket, his weed, his girlfriend. He keeps a gun in his hand and says that when in doubt, he shoots first. He knows how this sounds, and says it himself before anyone else can: you think I am paranoid.
The last verse is the honest one. He lost his friends chasing success, thought about nothing else, and now he cannot stand his own reflection. The title stops being a question about other people. He is the worst enemy he has.
