SaturnoSaturn

Saturno is the Portuguese word for "Saturn", the sixth planet from the Sun. It's an interesting word because it's not commonly found in everyday song lyrics.

In this song, the artist uses "passei em Saturno" (I passed through Saturn) metaphorically to express being completely disoriented and overwhelmed by the captivating effect of a woman. It conveys a sense of being taken to another world or dimension by her presence, making it a unique and memorable image.

In "Saturno (Ela É Malvada)," David Carreira and Matheus Fernandes sing about a woman who has completely captivated them. She has left the singer feeling confused, or as he puts it, she "tied my head in a knot" (fez a minha cabeça dar um nó). Even trying to be with other women was worse because none of them could compare to her. Her effect is so powerful that she makes him feel like he's traveled to another planet, saying, "Without leaving the house, I went to Saturn" (Sem sair de casa eu passei em Saturno).

He describes her as "wicked" (malvada), but in an exciting and alluring way. She's full of energy, with unique moves, and she "doesn't stop" (ela não para). This passionate encounter turns his world upside down and leaves the house a mess, suggesting a wild night that won't end until the next day. The song paints a picture of an unforgettable and intense connection that leaves everything else in disarray.

David Carreira is one of Portugal's biggest pop stars. Born in Dourdan, France, in 1991 and raised in a famously musical family as the son of the singer Tony Carreira, he broke through in 2011 with the album "N.1", which went straight to number one at home. Since then he has moved easily between radio pop, ballads and dance rhythms, and in 2019 he became the youngest Portuguese artist ever to sell out the Altice Arena in Lisbon.

On "Menta" he shares the microphone with Djodje, a Cape Verdean singer, songwriter and producer born in Praia in 1989 and now based in Lisbon. Djodje grew up surrounded by music, started out as a teenager in the group TC, and has become one of the leading voices of kizomba and Afropop across the Portuguese speaking world. His warm, laid back delivery, part of it sung in Cape Verdean Creole, is what gives this song its island heat.
