WespeWasp

Wespe literally translates to "wasp". While it's a common insect, in the context of this song, Apache 207 uses it as a slang term for his scooter or moped.

This metaphorical use is interesting because it evokes the image of a small, agile, and potentially stinging vehicle, reflecting the artist's street credibility and fast-paced lifestyle. It's a unique and memorable way to refer to his ride, making it stand out from typical vehicle names.

Roller is Apache 207’s playful victory lap through his neighborhood. Jumping on his Vespa (the “roller” of the title), he zips past gossip, jealousy and street-corner bravado with flashy Gucci sandals and an even flashier attitude. The rapper boasts about his strength, his physique and his rapid rise to fame, yet the scooter’s modest ten-horsepower engine keeps the scene relatable and funny. Listeners ride along through summer air, loud engines and photo-snapping fans who try to copy his style.

At the heart of the chorus is the mantra “Apache bleibt gleich”“Apache stays the same.” No matter how big the crowds grow or how many rumors swirl about drugs and knife fights, he insists he will not change. The song blends swagger with satire: it pokes fun at tough-guy poses while celebrating confidence, loyalty to friends and the simple joy of cruising around town with music blasting. Put on your helmet, turn the key and feel the carefree energy that has made “Roller” a German-language anthem of staying true to yourself.

Apache 207, born Volkan Yaman in 1997, is a German rapper and singer from Ludwigshafen, a city near Mannheim in southwestern Germany. He grew up there with his mother and brother, and only started releasing music in 2018, without any record label behind him.

His breakthrough came in 2019 with the hit single "Roller," which shot him to fame across Germany. Since then he has become one of the country's biggest music stars, blending rap with R&B, Eurodance, and 80s-inspired pop into a style that's part sung, part rapped.

"Wenn Das So Bleibt" captures the softer, more romantic side of his music, a tone that runs through many of his most popular songs.
