Acechar is a strong verb meaning "to stalk" or "to lurk," suggesting a silent, watchful, and often menacing presence.
In this lyric, Zoé sings "La oscuridad me acecha incrédula" ("The darkness stalks me in disbelief"). This personifies darkness itself, giving it a predatory and unsettling quality that perfectly captures the song's moody, existential atmosphere, making it a much more vivid and rare choice than common words like "esperar" (wait).
Zoé’s “Nada” feels like stepping into a neon-lit apothecary where every shelf offers a quirky remedy for the soul. The lyrics list a surreal toolkit—“transfusión de magia pura,” “rímel de miel,” “tragos de luz”—that promises to mend broken hearts, repaint sadness, and spark imagination. Behind the playful imagery sits a rebellious attitude toward modern life: television becomes something to laugh at instead of obey, while a “revólver sexual” dares us to gamble on passion.
At the song’s core rings a fearless mantra: “Nada que pueda perder, nada que no pueda hacer.” Darkness may lurk, yet the singer insists there is nothing to lose and everything to create, love, or dream. “Nada” invites listeners to arm themselves with creativity, irony, and love so they can outwit despair and claim boundless possibility.
Zoé started in Cuernavaca, Mexico, in 1995 and settled in Mexico City a couple of years later. León Larregui sings and writes most of the songs, backed by Sergio Acosta on guitar, Jesús Báez on keyboards, Ángel Mosqueda on bass and Rodrigo Guardiola on drums. Their sound is rock with a strong psychedelic streak, layered with synths and Larregui's soft, dreamy voice.
The band broke through with "Soñé" and kept the run going with albums like Rocanlover, Memo Rex Commander y el Corazón Atómico de la Vía Láctea and Reptilectric, home to "Locos". Their MTV Unplugged set, Música de Fondo, turned old favourites into stadium singalongs, and Aztlán (2018) won them a Grammy for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album. Songs like "Vía Láctea" and "Luna" are still the ones crowds sing loudest.
