Roncar literally means "to snore," but in many Latin American countries, especially in urban slang, it also means "to brag" or "to boast." This double meaning makes it an interesting and engaging word.
In the context of Yandel's song, he uses roncar to challenge others who might be boasting about their success. He asks, "¿Cómo tú me vas a roncar?" (How are you going to brag to me?), implying that he has achieved far more and has no need to boast, making the word both clever and impactful.
Yandel counts the years out loud. The track opens on "Veinticinco años matando la liga" ("Twenty-five years dominating the league"), and almost every boast after it is measured in time rather than money — "Casi tres década' en esto" ("Almost three decades in this"), "Hace rato que ya yo subí la jarda" ("It's been a while since I raised the bar"). The flex in the title is Puerto Rican, not a brand: it belongs to the boxer Félix "Tito" Trinidad, so "Yo les llevo dando con el puño de Tito" ("I've been hitting them with Tito's fist") lands as a hometown punch. The chorus swaps sport for the same reason, trading boxing for baseball: "pa' mí que en otra vida yo era pelotero" ("I think in another life I was a baseball player"), and then "Sigo pichándole" ("I keep pitching").
Underneath the taunts — "Cabrón, tú no eres malo, tú eres un hombre con falda" ("Bastard, you're not tough, you're a man in a skirt") — the song is about refusing to leave. He keeps saying he wants out and keeps not going: "Hace rato quiero quitarme pa'l carajo, pero salgo" ("For a while I've wanted to retire, but I come out"). At the end the beat drops away and he says it without rhyming: "A mí nadie me ha regalado nada" ("Nobody has given me anything"), "Me siento en mi prime" ("I feel in my prime"). The last two lines are a signature rather than a line — "La ELYTE", the label he runs, and "El Capitán Yandel" ("Captain Yandel"), the name he answers to.
