aloca — drives me crazy

Aloca comes from the verb "alocar," meaning "to drive crazy" or "to make someone lose their mind." It is a vivid, expressive word that conveys overwhelming emotion rather than a mild feeling.

In the line "Solo tĂș me das esa dosis que a mĂ me aloca" ("Only you give me that dose that drives me crazy"), the word shows how a single person has an almost addictive, overpowering effect on the singer.

The whole song is one argument the singer keeps losing. It opens on "Dijimos que no y lo volvimos a hacer" (We said no and we did it again), and everything after that is Xavi explaining why. They break up, they drift, they end up back in the same place: "Siempre nos perdemos y al rato volvemos" (We always get lost and soon after we come back), "Porque en la cama tĂș y yo nos entendemos" ('Cause in bed, you and I understand each other). The title carries the rest. "Solo tĂș me das esa dosis que a mĂ me aloca" (Only you give me that dose that drives me crazy) puts her in the same category as anything else you would light up, and he knows exactly what he is admitting.

The chorus is built out of dares. "Dicen que tu mirada mata, mírame a los ojos" (They say your gaze kills, look me in the eyes), and he wants it tested: "Que yo lo compruebo" (So I can prove it). Then "Si tus besos fueran veneno, pónganle hielo" (If your kisses were poison, serve 'em on ice), "Que yo me los bebo" ('Cause I'd drink them up). Poison, on the rocks. The swagger drops once, in the bridge, for a memory with no bravado in it at all: "Lejos del mundo, viendo hacia el mar" (Far from the world, looking at the sea). Then he is back in the mess, asking "¿Qué chingados voy a hacer?" (What the f*ck am I gonna do?) and not answering.
