peligrosa — dangerous

Peligrosa means "dangerous." While it might seem like a common word, its repeated use in the song, especially in the context of a woman's captivating dance moves, makes it particularly enticing.

The lyrics state, "Ella es peligrosa cuando empieza a mover" (She is dangerous when she starts to move), highlighting how her movements are so captivating they are almost a threat to one's self-control. This gives the word a playful, alluring, and powerful connotation that goes beyond a simple warning.

Four artists, one subject: a woman on a dancefloor and what happens around her. Shaggy opens in Jamaican patois — "Anyway you go, gyal, you a traffic-stopper" — and Wisin picks up the Spanish half with the same reporter's eye: "Cuando lo mueve detona como pistola" ("when she moves it, it goes off like a gun"), "Cintura pequeña, extra grande la cola" ("small waist, extra-large behind"). The chorus says the title outright — "Ella es peligrosa cuando empieza a mover" ("she's dangerous when she starts to move") — and the danger is the compliment.

Then Anitta takes that same chorus into the first person: "Yo soy peligrosa cuando empiezo a mover" ("I'm the dangerous one when I start to move"). From there she sets the terms instead of receiving them — "Quiero que te pegue', pero no te me desarmes" ("I want you close, but don't come apart on me") — and Wisin closes by naming the room: "Tú sabes lo que pasa cuando se juntan leyendas" ("you know what happens when legends get together"). The languages alternate on purpose: the patois verses and the Spanish ones are describing the same night from opposite sides of the floor.
