Конвоем means "under escort" or "under convoy", a term often used for prisoners or valuable cargo being guarded. It's a very dramatic and unusual word to find in a pop song.
In the lyrics, the singer says, "Под конвоем время ведёт куда" (Time leads somewhere under escort). She uses this powerful metaphor to describe a feeling of being a prisoner of time and fate, being led helplessly towards an unknown future. This single word sets a dark, compelling tone for the entire song.
Pop group Винтаж brings pure drama in "Ева (Yeva)", and it plays out like an obsessive confession whispered straight into a mirror. The speaker is completely glued to an idol named Eva, crying out in the chorus: "Ева, я любила тебя / Твои пластинки слушала я" ("Eva, I loved you / I listened to your records"). She looks at her reflection and loses track of her own identity, admitting, "Там ещё не ты, но уже не я" ("It's not you there yet, but it's no longer me"). It is a grand, theatrical spiral where listening to someone's records turns into feeling like your entire personality was written by them.
Notice how the track switches between Russian and English to spell out the sadness, dropping the blunt phrase "Lonely, lonely, I guess I'm lonely" right in the middle of the verses. The speaker frames the distance between them on a cosmic scale with "Ты Венера, я Земля" ("You are Venus, I am Earth"), while trying to hold it together as tears blur her view ("Посмотреть вправо надо / Но мешает слеза" - "I need to look right / But a tear gets in the way"). It is over-the-top, deeply catchy pop that turns a listener's fixation into a tragic, starry romance.
