bezwecktaims / intends

Bezweckt means 'aims' or 'intends'. It's a more formal and less common verb than simply 'will' (wants) or 'macht' (makes), making it stand out.

In the song, t-low sings, "Ich hab' einen Demon, der bezweckt, dass ich mich selbst nicht lieb'" (I have a demon that aims for me not to love myself). This use of bezweckt personifies the 'demon' by giving it a deliberate intention, adding a layer of depth to the internal struggle described in the lyrics.

In "Nicht Verdient," which translates to "Not Deserved," German rapper t-low paints a picture of a life caught between newfound success and old demons. He speaks directly to a romantic interest, admitting she doesn't deserve to have her heart played with by a "junkie" like him. He reveals a deep internal struggle, confessing, "I have a demon that makes me not love myself." This lack of self-love seems to be the root of his self-destructive behavior and his inability to be a good partner.

Despite this inner turmoil, t-low also celebrates his journey from hardship to fame. He reflects on rising from having no money to being "number one in the trends" and wanting to leave his past behind to drive a Benz. The song contrasts the highs of partying with his friends and living in a penthouse with the lows of his addiction and the feeling that his lifestyle is sometimes "too much." It's a raw and honest look at the dark side of living the dream, where success doesn't automatically heal personal struggles.
