Cambriolé means "burgled" or "robbed." It's an interesting and somewhat unexpected word to find in a love song, making it memorable.
In the lyrics, PLK sings, "cœur cambriolé" (burgled heart), using a vivid metaphor to express how his heart has been completely taken or stolen by his love interest. This creative use of a word usually associated with crime adds a unique and dramatic flair to the romantic theme.
PLK's "Pocahontas" is a fun, energetic track all about being totally smitten and living life to the fullest with someone special. He's head-over-heels for his partner, calling her an "avion d'chasse" [fighter jet] – a French slang term for a really attractive woman. He sees their relationship as something out of a movie, but even better because it's real: "Nous deux, c'est comme dans les films, mais en vrai" [The two of us, it's like in the movies, but real].
He imagines them on wild adventures, like cruising on a Vespa in Spain where no one knows them, or just chilling in a cozy Parisian apartment, ordering Uber Eats and watching movies in winter. He's so into her that he'd spoil her rotten, saying, "Si elle kiffe des trucs, j'lui dis, 'prends un d'chaque'" [If she likes stuff, I tell her, 'take one of each']. It's a song about a passionate, exciting love where they're a team, ready to take on the world together and ignore everyone else.
PLK is short for Polak, a nod to the grandfather who left Poland for France as a small boy during the Second World War. Born Mathieu Pruski in 1997 in the 14th arrondissement of Paris to a Corsican mother, he later moved to Clamart in the Hauts-de-Seine to live with his grandmother. He came up in Panama Bende, a crew of seven young Paris rappers who put out the EP Bende Mafia in 2016 and the album ADN a year later.
After signing with Panenka Music in 2017 he dropped the mixtapes Ténébreux and Platinum, then his first album, Polak, in 2018. Enna, named after his younger brother Enzo and sister Léna and also the name of his own label, went diamond after its reissue. The mixtapes Mental and Chambre 140 both went platinum. His latest album, Grand Garçon, came out in March 2026.
