Fugaz translates to "fleeting" or "brief", describing something that passes by very quickly.
In this nostalgic track, the artists use it in the beautiful phrase "estrella fugaz" (shooting star) to describe a past love. It is a highly poetic word that perfectly captures the bittersweet feeling of a romance that was incredibly bright and magical, but ultimately ended much too soon.
Ever felt so far away from someone that you wished you could send a message through the moon? That's exactly what Peso Pluma and Junior H are doing in this song. The singer is talking directly to the moon because it's the only thing that can still watch over someone he's lost. He asks it, “Luna, dile tú / Que tú eres la única que la puede mirar” (Moon, you tell her / That you're the only one who can see her).
He reveals that she has moved on with someone else, saying “Que tú ya estás con otro y espero te cuide bien” (That you are already with someone else and I hope he takes good care of you). Instead of being bitter, he asks the moon to protect her. He knows she won't see him again, but the moon will always be there as a silent guardian. It's a really beautiful and sad way to say you still care about someone from a distance.

His voice is a thin nasal rasp nobody would call pretty, and in 2023 it made him the fifth most-streamed artist on Spotify worldwide.
He arrived through features, "El BelicĂłn" with RaĂşl Vega and then "AMG" and "PRC" with Natanael Cano, before "Ella Baila Sola" with EslabĂłn Armado reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2023, the first regional Mexican song ever inside that top 10. GĂ©nesis won Best MĂşsica Mexicana Album at the 2024 Grammys, and the 24-track double album Éxodo followed with Cardi B, Quavo and Rich the Kid along for the urbano half.
