"Emilia" is a lullaby-sized thank-you note from two parents to their new daughter, sung by Paola Jara with Jessi Uribe. The dad's voice opens it: he already had a child in his arms and already knew "qué es ser papá" (what it is to be a dad), and then she gave him "otra razón pa' mirar al cielo" (another reason to look up at the sky). That pa' is just para (to, for) clipped short, the way people actually talk.
The chorus is sweet and very specific. She is "el regalo que pedimos" (the gift we asked for) and "una nota nueva en nuestra canciĂłn" (a new note in our song). My favourite line is "No viniste a llenar ningĂşn vacĂo, solo a multiplicar nuestro amor" (you didn't come to fill any emptiness, only to multiply our love): a nice way of telling an older sibling nobody was missing anything.
Near the end they explain the name. If she ever wonders why it sounds like a melody, they'll tell her that one day, "buscando en la Biblia" (looking through the Bible), "el alma nos cantĂł: Emilia" (our soul sang it to us: Emilia). It is openly religious and openly mushy, and it doesn't apologise for either.
