In "Frío" (Cold), Nicki Nicole flips the usual breakup song around: the person who left took the summer with them. "El verano se fue contigo" (summer left with you), so now "el fucking corazón está frío" (my f***ing heart is cold). The English swear dropped into a Spanish line is very much how young Argentines talk.
Listen for the voseo, the Argentine way of saying tú: "Porque vos te fuiste" (because you left) and "¿Cómo hacés para dañarme?" (how do you manage to hurt me?). Vos plus a verb stressed on the end, like hacés, is a dead giveaway that the singer is from Argentina.
She is not wallowing, though. "No me importa vivir en invierno, peor era vivir en un infierno" (I don't mind living in winter, living in hell was worse) is a great comeback line, and she even apologises to his mum: "ella un Sol" (she was a sweetheart, literally a sun). By the end she is "de gira" (on tour), not sleeping, and refusing to go back to his bed.
