Sábio — Wise man / Sage

Sábio means "wise man" or "sage". It refers to someone with profound knowledge and wisdom, often gained through experience.

In this song, the singer creates a beautiful contrast. After admitting she lacks poetic words for love, she confidently declares she will kiss her partner "Como um sábio na arte de amar" (Like a sage in the art of loving). This suggests that true love is shown through deep, intuitive action, not just words, making it a very powerful and romantic statement.

Have you ever felt so much for someone that words just don't seem good enough? That's exactly what Marília Mendonça is singing about in "Te Amo Demais." She lays it all out on the table, admitting she's not the smoothest talker. She says, "Nunca soube recitar poesia... Não sei palavras de amor" (I never knew how to recite poetry... I don't know words of love). She's not trying to be a fancy seducer; she's just being completely honest.

Instead of grand promises or clever lines, she offers something much more real. She might not have material wealth—"Eu não tenho ouro nem prata" (I don't have gold or silver)—but she insists she has already given her greatest treasure. The whole point of the song is that her love is simple, direct, and overwhelming. She repeats the one thing she knows how to say over and over: "Só sei que eu te amo demais" (I just know that I love you so much). It's a powerful reminder that sometimes, the most honest feelings are the simplest ones.

Marília Mendonça was a Brazilian singer and songwriter from Cristianópolis, in the state of Goiás. Born in 1995, she started writing songs as a child and launched her recording career in 2014, quickly becoming one of the biggest names in sertanejo music.

She was known as the Queen of Sofrência, the heartbreak-driven side of sertanejo, and helped lead the feminejo movement of women artists in a genre long dominated by men. Her powerful voice and honest lyrics about love and longing turned her into a superstar across Brazil. Marília died in a plane crash in November 2021 at just 26 years old, and she is still celebrated as one of the country's most beloved voices.
