Travesuras literally translates to "mischief" or "pranks," often used to describe the playful, harmless trouble that children get into. It’s a fun word that brings a sense of lightheartedness to any conversation.
However, in this romantic song, the singer uses it as a clever and sweet euphemism. When he sings, "Hicimos mil travesuras en la cama" (We got into a thousand mischiefs in bed), he's poetically describing their intimate moments, reframing them as playful adventures. This dual meaning makes it a very unique and charming word to learn.
Marca MP goes straight for full-blown romance and nostalgia in "Recuerda", a track centered on someone replaying sweet memories of an unforgettable night. The singer cannot get his lover's face and body out of his head, confessing right off the bat, "No puedo parar yo de pensar" ("I can't stop thinking"). He lays on the classic romance thick, dreaming of "hacerte el amor en la cama con rosas" ("making love to you on a bed with roses") and taking her to the moon three thousand times. It is dramatic, sweet, and completely shamelessly head-over-heels.
The real heart of the track kicks in when he looks back on one specific evening: "Como aquella vez que llegamos del baile" ("Like that time we got back from the dance"). He reminisces about losing all track of time—"¿en qué?, solo Dios sabe" ("doing what? only God knows")—while kissing her neck. There is playful cheekiness here, too, when he remembers "hicimos mil travesuras en la cama" ("we got up to a thousand antics in bed"). In Spanish, travesuras usually means childish mischief, but here it is a flirtatious way to describe their bedroom games. It is a warm, intimate trip down memory lane that ends with a bold, possessive reminder: "Recuerda que sigo siendo dueño de ti" ("Remember that I still own you").
