Chingazo is a very versatile and informal slang term in Mexican Spanish, often meaning 'a strong hit' or 'a blow'. However, in this context, it's used idiomatically.
When the lyrics say "como Dios sabe que estamos al chingazo," it means "as God knows we are ready for anything" or "we are always ready for action/whatever comes our way." It conveys a sense of readiness, resilience, and being prepared to face challenges head-on, making it an interesting and culturally rich word to learn.
Get ready to meet Chano! Luis R Conriquez introduces us to a character who's a bit distrustful but always 'derecho' [straight/upright]. He's not afraid to put his chest out for the few he trusts. Chano might not have gone to school much, but he definitely has talent. He enjoys life in Nayarit, cruising around with a 'linda güerita' [pretty blonde girl] by his side.
Chano is a calm guy, but he's also a lover, always grateful for those who've supported him. He's ready for work and believes in staying quiet about his success: 'bonito es comer callado y brillar' [it's beautiful to eat quietly and shine]. He's loyal to his team and those who've helped him, always firm and never bending. Chano is ready for whatever comes his way, even with all the envy, he's just focused on going 'para arriba' [upwards]!
