tintamarre — din / racket

Tintamarre refers to a loud, confused noise or a great racket. It's a wonderfully evocative and somewhat uncommon word that paints a vivid picture of auditory chaos.

In the song, Louane sings, "Un gros tintamarre dans mon âme novice" (A big din in my novice soul). This line uses the word metaphorically to describe the overwhelming and confusing emotions or thoughts she experiences as someone new to love or life's complexities, making it a powerful and memorable choice.

Donne-moi Ton Cœur is Louane’s heartfelt plea for real connection. Over pulsing electro-pop, the French singer asks a partner to hand over more than just polite smiles: she wants the whole package—heart, fears, flaws, late-night screams, and unspoken dreams. By repeating “donne-moi c’que tu es,” she insists on authenticity and paints a celestial world where masks fall away, no one leaves, and no one stays half-present.

Beneath the catchy chorus lies an intimate exploration of identity. Louane imagines alternate selves (the “other you” and “other me”), envisions sleepless nights tangled in shared secrets, and even wonders if she sometimes becomes the very person she’s trying to understand. The song is both a romantic invitation and a self-reflective quest, reminding us that true love—and self-love—start when we dare to reveal who we really are.

Louane was born Anne Peichert in 1996 in the Pas-de-Calais, in the north of France, and at sixteen she reached the semi-finals of The Voice: la plus belle voix. A year later she played Paula, the hearing daughter of a deaf farming family, in the film La Famille Bélier, and won the César for Most Promising Actress for the role.

Her debut album Chambre 12 (2015) went to number one in France and sold over three quarters of a million copies that year, carried by "Avenir", "Jour 1" and "Maman", a song written for her mother, who had died the year before. Louane (2017), Joie de vivre (2020), Sentiments (2022) and Solo (2024) followed, and in 2025 she represented France at Eurovision with a new song called "Maman", again about her mother, finishing seventh.
