лестьflattery

Лесть translates to "flattery" or "sycophancy". It's a specific and often negative form of praise, implying insincerity or an ulterior motive.

In the song, Klava Koka sings, "Ко мне не надо лезть, ненавижу лесть" (Don't try to get close to me, I hate flattery). This line powerfully conveys her disdain for insincere compliments and manipulative attempts to win her over, highlighting a common theme of distrust in relationships.

Tick-tock, it is almost midnight: the very first line plunges us into a night of disappointment where Klava is still waiting for a boyfriend who promised to arrive “in an hour.” When he finally shows up drunk, she gives him just sixty seconds to explain himself. This tension sets the tone: the song is about a relationship stuck in a loop of empty promises, late-night apologies, and unanswered messages.

Klava’s verdict is quick and catchy: “Pack your things, I will throw you out, and you will fly back like a boomerang.” Her chorus repeats the image of the boomerang to highlight how people who ignore boundaries always seem to return, expecting forgiveness. Instead of giving in, she shuts the door on lies, flattery, and excuses, declaring that reconciliation is “not an option.” The result is an empowering anthem of self-respect where the singer breaks the toxic cycle, reminding listeners that they do not have to keep taking someone back just because that person keeps coming back.

Klava Koka, whose real name is Klavdiya Vadimovna Vysokova, is a Russian pop singer, songwriter, and YouTuber born on July 23, 1995, in Yekaterinburg.

She moved to Moscow as a teenager and studied public administration before pursuing music full time, competing on the Russian talent shows Glavnaya Stsena and Molodaya Krov. Winning the latter in 2015 earned her a recording contract with the label Black Star.

Klava Koka built her early following on YouTube, where she posted Russian-language covers of foreign hits, before breaking through with her own catchy, chorus-driven pop songs. She has since become one of Russia's most streamed female pop artists, known for tracks like "Krash" and "Pokinula Chat," and in 2019 she won the High Five television award.
