abismo — abyss

Abismo literally translates to "abyss" or "chasm". It's a powerful and poetic word that you don't hear every day.

In this raw, emotional song, Junior H uses this word metaphorically to express his deep despair. He sings, "Y yo me sentía cayendo en un abismo" (And I felt myself falling into an abyss), creating a vivid image of the emotional freefall and hopelessness he's experiencing after a painful breakup.

“NO TE DOLIÓ” pairs Junior H’s raw vocals with Gael Valenzuela’s aching harmonies to paint the picture of a love story that was never truly mutual. Over a melancholic corrido beat, the narrator confronts his ex with one burning question: “How could it not hurt you the way it hurt me?” He lists the wreckage she left behind – a shattered heart, deleted photos, and memories drowned in alcohol – while admitting his own flaws and addiction. The song swings between self-blame and accusation, revealing a cycle of ego, indifference, and booze that doomed the relationship from the start.

Far from a simple breakup track, this song explores the sting of realizing you were never loved back. Its conversational lyrics, peppered with slang and brutal honesty, capture the frustration of trying to erase someone who has already erased you. Get ready for a cathartic ride through heartbreak where the guitars cry just as loudly as the singers.

Junior H taught himself guitar and accordion off YouTube while working the kitchen at a Wendy's in Utah, where his family had moved in 2015 from Cerano, Guanajuato. Born Antonio Herrera Pérez in 2001, he uploaded his own songs under the name until one of them, "No Eh Cambiado", passed two million views and convinced him to make a career of it. The debut album Mi Vida en un Cigarro arrived in 2019.

He writes sad music, mostly: heartbreak over sierreño guitars, the corner of corridos tumbados people call urban sierreño. $ad Boyz 4 Life II (2023) reached number 14 on the Billboard 200 carrying no guest features at all, and produced "Y Lloro" and "Las Noches". Away from his own records he sings on "El Azul" with Peso Pluma, and on "Lady Gaga" with Peso Pluma and Gabito Ballesteros, which entered Hot Latin Songs at number one. In February 2026 he and songwriter Gael Valenzuela released the joint album DEPR</3$$ED MFKZ, a number one on Billboard's Top Regional Mexican Albums chart.
