While comer usually means "to eat," here it's used to express how time passed incredibly fast, consuming the moments the singer should have spent with his loved one. This creative expression turns a simple verb into a poignant image of lost time and longing.
Mexican singer Junior H puts down a heavy, honest track about being stuck miles away from the person who keeps him steady. The title is not an exaggeration: he spells out that he literally travelled 1004 kilĂłmetros (623 miles) just to catch a glimpse of her. In the lyrics, he admits the physical separation makes his daily aches so much harder to manage ("SĂ© que la distancia no ayuda / En el dolor que siento al dĂa" [I know distance doesn't help with the pain I feel each day]). When he admits "el tiempo nos comiĂł" (time ate us up), he is using a classic Spanish idiom that means time slipped away or moved way too fast before he could spend enough of it with her.
He also leans into regional phrasing when he shouts "Y ahĂ te va chiquitita / Puro Junior H" (There it goes for you, little girl / Pure Junior H), treating the track like a direct dedication right in the middle of his vocals. He admits to having "dĂas grises" (grey days) where the ache returns, but he counters that by holding onto faith that the separation is temporary. Junior H taught himself guitar and accordion off YouTube while working the kitchen at a Wendy's in Utah, where his family had moved in 2015 from Cerano, Guanajuato. Born Antonio Herrera PĂ©rez in 2001, he uploaded his own songs under the name until one of them, "No Eh Cambiado", passed two million views and convinced him to make a career of it. The debut album Mi Vida en un Cigarro arrived in 2019.
He writes sad music, mostly: heartbreak over sierreño guitars, the corner of corridos tumbados people call urban sierreño. $ad Boyz 4 Life II (2023) reached number 14 on the Billboard 200 carrying no guest features at all, and produced "Y Lloro" and "Las Noches". Away from his own records he sings on "El Azul" with Peso Pluma, and on "Lady Gaga" with Peso Pluma and Gabito Ballesteros, which entered Hot Latin Songs at number one. In February 2026 he and songwriter Gael Valenzuela released the joint album DEPR</3$$ED MFKZ, a number one on Billboard's Top Regional Mexican Albums chart.
