Sobrevivientes literally means "survivors". This word is incredibly powerful in the context of this song, which compares a fast-moving, intense love affair to an accidente (accident).
Jesse & Joy sing, "Y a nuestra velocidad, no hubo sobrevivientes" (And at our speed, there were no survivors). This dramatic line metaphorically describes the complete and total end of the relationship. It paints a vivid picture of a love so intense and fast that it inevitably crashed, leaving neither person's heart, nor the relationship itself, intact.
Mexican pop duo Jesse & Joy team up with Elsa y Elmar for "Accidente", a track that looks back at a sudden, total breakup. The split happens fast: it starts "Por la madrugada / En una llamada" ("In the early morning / On a phone call"), where just a few quiet words make the goodbye crystal clear. The singers admit both people share the blame ("Pesa más la culpa cuando es de los dos" [The guilt weighs heavier when it belongs to both of us]), but there is still plenty of grace left. Instead of being petty, they send a genuine wish on New Year's Eve: "Un amor sincero, aunque no sea yo" ("A sincere love, even if it's not with me").

Jesse & Joy are a Mexican brother-and-sister pop duo from Mexico City. Jesse Huerta plays piano and guitar, while his younger sister Joy takes the lead vocals. The pair started writing songs together as teenagers and signed with Warner Music in 2005.
They released their debut album in 2006 and quickly became one of the biggest acts in Latin pop. Their song "¡Corre!," from the 2011 album ¿Con Quién Se Queda El Perro?, won Song of the Year and Record of the Year at the Latin Grammys. Jesse & Joy have since won six Latin Grammys in total, plus a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album.
