"Vuela" is Jarabe de Palo's song about being surrounded by noise and still feeling completely alone. The singer opens by admitting it has been a long time since he heard the waves breaking on the rocks, "Mucho tiempo llevo sin oír las olas" (I haven't heard the waves in a long time). Everyone around him shouts, but nobody listens.

His answer is the chorus: "Por eso ahora querría ser un pájaro" (That's why now I'd like to be a bird), flying up "muy, muy alto" (very, very high). In between he asks someone to sit down, have a drink and talk without hurrying, because maybe they know something he doesn't. He even decides it's "mejor ser lobo solitario" (better to be a lone wolf) than to walk next to someone and "mirarte y no ver nada" (look at you and see nothing).

The ending is blunt and fun. "Mueve el culo y márchate" is a cheeky way of saying "get your butt moving and leave", and "lárgate" is a casual "get out of here". Watch the verb vuela too: it is the command "fly!", so the title is telling you to drop everything and go far away.

Jarabe de Palo is a Spanish rock band founded in 1996 in Barcelona, led by the charismatic singer, songwriter, and guitarist Pau Donés. Known for their heartfelt lyrics and catchy melodies, the band quickly rose to fame with hits like La Flaca and Depende. In 2008, Jarabe de Palo took an independent route by creating their own label, Tronco Records, and continued releasing fresh music including Orquesta Reciclando and Somos. Their collaborations span artists like Celia Cruz, Antonio Vega, and Ricky Martin, showcasing their versatile style. The band disbanded in 2020 after the passing of Pau Donés, leaving behind a legacy of timeless music that resonates across generations.
