Apus literally means 'sunset'. However, in the context of the song, the phrase "după apus" (after sunset) is used repeatedly, becoming a central theme.
It evokes a sense of timelessness, intimacy, and a magical period that extends beyond the day. It's not just about the end of the day, but a special time when love and dreams take flight, making it a poetic and memorable word that perfectly captures the song's romantic and ethereal mood.
This song is a dreamy celebration of a powerful, almost magical love. Iuliana Beregoi describes a relationship where two people feel like they've chosen each other against the world, calling themselves "doi rebeli în univers" (two rebels in the universe). Their connection is so intense that when they meet, they "aprindem stelele" (light up the stars). It's a love that makes reality feel like a fantasy, where even with open eyes, "totul pare un vis" (everything seems like a dream).
The chorus is a plea for closeness and comfort that lasts through the night. The line "Ține-mă în brațe și după apus" (Hold me in your arms even after sunset) is the heart of the song. It's about wanting that feeling of safety and love to continue after the day is over. This love gives her a sense of freedom, making her feel like her "inima... prinde aripi" (heart... grows wings) and allows her to see how beautiful love is from a higher perspective.
