Aprovéchame is a command that literally means "Take advantage of me." It combines the verb aprovechar (to make the most of something) with the pronoun me.
While "take advantage" can sound negative in English, here it's a passionate plea to seize the day. In the song, Bad Bunny sings "Aprovéchame hoy, que mañana me voy" (Take advantage of me today, because tomorrow I'm leaving), urging his partner to embrace their fleeting, perfect moment together before it disappears. It's a powerful and emotionally charged word that captures the heart of the song.
Tormenta brings together British virtual band Gorillaz and Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny for a breezy, sun-drenched pop track set right in the middle of chaos. Damon Albarn keeps his English lines sparse and dreamy, repeating images like "The sun in the storm" and "Someone crying". Meanwhile, Bad Bunny steps in with full romantic urgency. He knows time is running out, repeating the central plea: "Y aprovéchame hoy / Que mañana me voy" ("Take advantage of me today / Because tomorrow I'm leaving"). Instead of worrying about what comes next, he wants to hide in his lover's arms while everything falls apart around them.
Bad Bunny drops some great conversational Spanish that shows off his blunt, passionate style. When he sings "Tú haces contraste / Con to' este desastre" ("You contrast / With all this disaster"), he uses "to'", which is everyday spoken slang for todo (all/every). He brushes off outside gossip with "Cruza conmigo antes que se rompa el puente / Y que se jda el resto"* ("Cross with me before the bridge breaks / And screw the rest"). It is a song about seizing peace with someone special while the power is out and the world is noisy, treating love as a quick sanctuary before having to move on.
