Despierto means "awake." While it might seem like a common word, its use in the phrase "soñando despierto" (dreaming awake) is particularly interesting and evocative.
In the song, Fonseca sings, "Vivo soñando contigo, soñando despierto" (I live dreaming of you, dreaming awake). This phrase beautifully captures the intensity of his feelings, implying that his love is so consuming that even when he's awake, he's lost in thoughts and dreams of his beloved. It's a poetic way to express deep infatuation.
Have you ever just wanted to unplug from the world and truly connect with someone? Fonseca, a Colombian artist, totally gets it in "En Vivo Y En Directo" [Live and Direct]. He's basically saying, "Let's turn everything off for a day" ("Quiero que apaguemos todo solo por un dÃa") and just look into each other's eyes like they did before. It's all about those small, personal gestures, like leaving a note on the fridge ("Que me dejes una nota en la nevera") to show someone they're your whole life.
This song is a sweet reminder to ditch the tech and embrace real-life connection. Fonseca sings, "Let's put technology aside because it's extra in this room now" ("Vamos a dejar a un lado la tecnologÃa porque está sobrando ahora en esta habitación"). He believes you don't need the internet to connect when your hearts are already shared. For him, there's nothing better than falling asleep next to the person you love, live and direct. He's so in love, he wants to shout it to the wind, feeling perfectly connected by the same emotion. It's a beautiful ode to being present and cherishing those genuine, in-person moments.
