Desenredaste comes from the verb desenredar, meaning "to untangle" or "to unravel". It's a less common verb in everyday conversation, making it stand out.
In the song, Farruko uses it metaphorically when he sings, "Tú desenredaste mis cables cruzao'" (You untangled my crossed wires). This vivid imagery describes how his partner brought order and clarity to his chaotic life, making it a powerful and memorable word in the context of the song's narrative.
Farruko opens exhausted — driving nowhere, eating alone, waking up without the person he loves. He is checked out on his old routine and says so plainly: 'Ya estoy cansado' [I am already tired]. Then the hook flips the frame: she did not fix him, she untangled him — 'Tú desenredaste mis cables cruzao'' [You untangled my crossed wires] — and everything that was scrambled fell into place, 'to' seteao'' [it is all set up].
He does not dress up the confession. He calls himself useless, 'un cero a la izquierda' [a zero to the left] — the guy who leaves clothes on the floor and drools on the pillow — and still cannot believe she looked at a mess like him and 'lo viste como arte' [saw it as art]. That is the whole song: a chaotic, unfinished person, loved anyway.
Carlos Efrén Reyes Rosado was writing songs at eleven, then left school to fix cars alongside his father in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, and built his first audience on MySpace. As Farruko he put out El Talento del Bloque in 2010, at nineteen.
The big records came through other people's at first: "6 AM" with J Balvin, "Passion Whine" with Sean Paul, "Krippy Kush" with Bad Bunny and Rvssian, and the "Calma" remix with Pedro Capó, which took a Latin Grammy in 2019. Then "Pepas" in 2021, guaracha electrónica built on Colombian club music rather than reggaeton, hit number one on Hot Latin Songs and has passed 1.7 billion Spotify streams. In February 2022 he stopped a Miami arena show to preach for about fifteen minutes, refused to sing "Pepas" and apologised for its lyrics, and told the crowd that Farru was retired and Carlos was there now. He returned to touring in May 2023 and released the 26-track CVRBON VRMOR in October 2024.
