enloquecer — to drive crazy

Enloquecer means 'to drive crazy' or 'to make someone go mad'. It's a dramatic and expressive verb that conveys intense emotion.

In this song, the singer uses it to describe the profound effect his beloved has on him, singing, "La que me hace enloquecer" (The one who makes me go crazy). It highlights the overwhelming and captivating nature of his love, making it a memorable and enticing word for learners.

This is a song about a love so strong it feels like it's just the two of you against everyone else. The singer declares, “Siento que solamente tú y yo / Vamos contra todo el mundo” (I feel that only you and I / are going against the whole world). He's completely sure he's found the one, the woman who drives him crazy in the best way and makes him happy with just a kiss when he's sad.

He gets really specific about what he loves, from her pretty face to the way her scent, which he says smells like roses, stays on his jacket for weeks after a hug. He makes big promises, vowing to protect her, be there for her, and wipe away her tears. He even admits he might mess up sometimes, but he swears he'll fix it right away. It's a sweet, all-in declaration of love, with the simple goal of being with her until they're old, calling her “La mujer perfecta pa' mí” (The perfect woman for me).

Eslabón Armado began in 2017 as three teenagers from Patterson, California, playing sierreño on twelve-string guitar and bass while they were still at Patterson High School. Brothers Pedro and Brian Tovar are the two constants; Pedro started writing the songs at about ten, and the first album was cut in a garage. Their subject is almost always heartbreak, taken slowly and sung close to the microphone.

That garage record, Tu Veneno Mortal (2020), still went to No. 1 on Billboard's Regional Mexican Albums chart, and "Con Tus Besos" and "La Trokita" were the singles that carried it. Corta Venas arrived the same year and is certified 8x platinum in the Latin field. Nostalgia (2022) hit No. 9 on the Billboard 200, the first regional Mexican album to reach the top ten there. In March 2023 they released "Ella Baila Sola" with Peso Pluma, which peaked at No. 4 on the Hot 100 and became the first regional Mexican song in the top ten, and the album behind it, Desvelado, entered at No. 6. Amor Perdido followed in 2024, Vibras de Noche 2 in 2025.
