Enchina comes from the verb enchinar, which is used in the common phrase "se me enchina la piel" to mean "I get goosebumps". The literal meaning of enchinar is 'to make curly' or 'to curl'.
In the song, the artist sings, "La piel se me enchina cuando tu te arrimas" (I get goosebumps when you get close). It's an evocative word that describes the powerful physical and emotional reaction he has to his partner's affection, a feeling that literally makes his skin tingle and his hair stand on end.
This song is a straight-up love letter, full of huge romantic promises and sweet details. The singer is completely smitten, telling his partner that with her kisses, "Con tus besos me haces sentir bien" (you make me feel good). He's not just physically attracted to her, though he definitely is—he says when she walks, she "matas a cualquier hombre" (kills any man). He also loves her for who she is, admiring her casual style and how she doesn't pretend to be someone else. It's this authenticity that made him fall for her in the first place.
He sees a whole future with this person, imagining a life of travel and romance. He makes some classic, over-the-top promises, like taking her to the moon, and says he'll be the man who gives her everything she wants. But it's also about the comfort and peace she brings him. When he's with her, his "martirio" (torment) goes away, and he feels complete. The song ends with a thank you, making it clear the whole track is a gift to her: "Esta rola va pa' ti, mi niña" (This song is for you, my girl).
Eslabón Armado began in 2017 as three teenagers from Patterson, California, playing sierreño on twelve-string guitar and bass while they were still at Patterson High School. Brothers Pedro and Brian Tovar are the two constants; Pedro started writing the songs at about ten, and the first album was cut in a garage. Their subject is almost always heartbreak, taken slowly and sung close to the microphone.
That garage record, Tu Veneno Mortal (2020), still went to No. 1 on Billboard's Regional Mexican Albums chart, and "Con Tus Besos" and "La Trokita" were the singles that carried it. Corta Venas arrived the same year and is certified 8x platinum in the Latin field. Nostalgia (2022) hit No. 9 on the Billboard 200, the first regional Mexican album to reach the top ten there. In March 2023 they released "Ella Baila Sola" with Peso Pluma, which peaked at No. 4 on the Hot 100 and became the first regional Mexican song in the top ten, and the album behind it, Desvelado, entered at No. 6. Amor Perdido followed in 2024, Vibras de Noche 2 in 2025.
