Infinita translates to "infinite" or "endless." While it's a common word, its use here is particularly poetic and central to the song's theme.
Cuco sings, "Y te transformaste en mi infinita inspiración" (And you transformed into my infinite inspiration). This highlights the depth and boundless nature of the muse, making it a powerful and memorable word that encapsulates the song's romantic and artistic essence.
Cuco's ‘Mi Infinita’ turns falling in love into a single visual: everything switches on at once, the way an old film gains its color. ‘De blanco y negro a color’ (From black and white to color) opens the song and returns as its hook, with every later image building on it rather than replacing it — his partner is ‘Como la pintura de un artista’ (Like an artist's painting), and reaches him from somewhere almost impossibly distant: ‘Me alcanzastes en un planeta junto al sol’ (You reached me on a planet near the sun).
Before that certainty settles in, Cuco admits the confusion that came first — ‘En círculos de vueltas andaba confusión’ (Confusion kept spinning me in circles) — which makes the steady refrain that follows land harder: ‘Si de tu lado estoy yo’ (When I'm right by your side).
