sottovuoto — vacuum-sealed

Sottovuoto literally translates to "vacuum-sealed" or "under vacuum". It's an interesting and somewhat unusual word to find in song lyrics, making it memorable.

In the context of the song, the artist sings, "Mi hai lasciato solo tra ansie e pacchi sottovuoto" (You left me alone among anxieties and vacuum-sealed packages). This creates a vivid image of isolation and perhaps even a sense of being preserved or trapped in a state of anxiety, much like something sealed away from the outside world.

In "Sottovuoto," which means "Vacuum-Sealed" in Italian, Capo Plaza paints a picture of a life filled with contradictions. He's caught between a glamorous new lifestyle and the dangerous streets he came from. On one hand, he boasts about his success, mentioning a "giubbotto Fendi" (Fendi jacket) and a "orologio nuovo" (new watch), declaring, "mo' spendo in ciò che voglio" (now I spend on what I want). This wealth, however, seems to be built on a risky foundation, hinted at with references to "pacchi sottovuoto" (vacuum-sealed packages) and a world where "uccidi o, sì, ti uccidono" (you kill or, yes, they kill you).

This success doesn't bring peace. The speaker is haunted by "ansie" (anxieties) and "incubi" (nightmares), feeling lost and alone after a painful breakup. He describes a final kiss, "come se è l'ultima volta" (as if it's the last time), and accuses his ex-lover, "Mi hai lasciato solo" (You left me alone). The song captures a feeling of being trapped between past struggles and a present filled with fragile emotions, where material possessions can't heal the wounds that "peggiorano ogni giorno" (get worse every day).
