A breakup song where the singer takes the blame. She is leaving to go back to "al mundo que adorabas y que por culpa mía lo perdiste" [the world you loved and lost because of me], and he would rather she said nothing at all: "No me digas adiós, no me pidas perdón" [Don't tell me goodbye, don't ask me for forgiveness]. He wanted her to be sun and light, but found "una vela apagada" [a snuffed-out candle] in her eyes, so he accepts she had to go.

The title image is the chorus: "Llévate mis hojas secas" [Take my dry leaves away], along with the memories that hurt most. Dry leaves are what is left after something has died, and he wants her to carry them off so he can heal. Listen for the classic vallenato extras too: the shout "Ay, homb'e" (short for hombre, roughly "oh, man"), the party cry "Güepajé", and spoken dedications to María Cristina Mejía and some friends. The ending is gentle, "Despacito se cura este dolor" [Slowly this pain heals], and he even wishes her happiness because "Tú te mereces más" [You deserve more].
