Punto y aparte literally means "period and separate," but it's an idiomatic expression that signifies a definitive end to something, like closing a chapter and starting a new one.
In this song, it's used to declare a final breakup: "Punto y aparte, aunque ahora mismo me cueste olvidarte" (Period, even though right now it's hard for me to forget you). It powerfully conveys the singer's resolve to move on despite the pain, making it a memorable and impactful phrase.
This Banda MS song, "Punto Y Aparte," is a really direct breakup anthem! It's all about moving on after someone you cared for deeply lets you down. The singer makes it clear they've learned their lesson, even if it was a tough one, saying "A la mala me tocó aprender" [I had to learn the hard way].
They're totally done with the relationship and aren't looking back. The lyrics are pretty blunt: "Ya no me busques Porque por ningún motivo quiero regresar" [Don't look for me anymore because I don't want to come back for any reason]. It's a firm declaration that it's over, a "Punto y aparte" [period and a new paragraph], even if forgetting them will be hard. And that line about all messages being left on read? "Y todos tus mensajes vistos se van a quedar" [And all your messages will be left on seen]—that's a classic breakup move!
