virado — flipped / wild

Virado literally translates to "turned" or "spun". However, in Puerto Rican slang, it takes on a whole new meaning, describing someone who is acting wild, angry, or is completely unrestrained.

In the song, Bad Bunny declares "salgo esta noche virado pa' la calle" (I'm going out wild into the street tonight). He uses this powerful slang to show he's embracing a rebellious, carefree lifestyle and has completely "flipped" from the person he used to be.

Bad Bunny does not do polite breakups. In "Soy Peor", the Puerto Rican artist announces that trusting his ex ended so badly that he shot Cupid point-blank: "Me compré una forty y a cupido se la vacié" (I bought a .40 caliber and emptied it on Cupid). Instead of moping at home, he turns his bitterness into pure villainy. He warns his ex that if he used to be bad, she made him much worse: "Si antes yo era un hijueputa ahora soy peor... por ti" (If before I was an asshole, now I'm worse... because of you). Being faithful got him nowhere, so he trades romance for nightlife, making cash, and seeing other women.

He shouts out reggaeton pioneer Héctor el Father with the line "Como Hector el Father hoy yo salgo pa' la calle con to's mis anormales" (Like Héctor el Father today I go out to the street with all my crazies), borrowing the veteran's famous crew name ("los anormales") to hype up his own night out. Bad Bunny lists every type of girl he is partying with now, throws cash at the club, and tells his ex to let her mother know he has plenty of new mothers-in-law: "Dile a tu mai que ya no me hace falta / Que ahora tengo suegras de más" (Tell your mom I don't need her anymore / That now I have extra mothers-in-law). It is petty, blunt, and completely focused on revenge through reckless fun.

Bad Bunny was bagging groceries at a supermarket in Vega Baja and studying audiovisual communication at the University of Puerto Rico's Arecibo campus when the tracks he was uploading to SoundCloud between shifts reached DJ Luian, who signed him to Hear This Music in 2016. He was born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio in Bayamón in 1994 and grew up in the Almirante Sur barrio of Vega Baja.

The breakout was "Diles" in 2016, then "Soy Peor" that December, and by 2018 he was on Cardi B's "I Like It", a number one on the Hot 100. His albums run from X 100pre and YHLQMDLG through Un Verano Sin Ti, the year end number one on the Billboard 200 in 2022, to Debí Tirar Más Fotos, which in February 2026 became the first all Spanish language album to win the Grammy for Album of the Year. He also has "Callaíta", "Dakiti" and "Tití Me Preguntó" behind him, a summer 2025 residency at the Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, and a WrestleMania tag team match in 2021 that he and Damian Priest won.
