Ana Castela is a Brazilian singer-songwriter born in 2003 in Mato Grosso do Sul, where she grew up on a farm near the Paraguayan border. That rural upbringing shapes both her music and her nickname, "A Boiadeira" (the cowgirl), which she embraces with cowboy hats, boots, and a wide belt.
She helped popularize agronejo, a lively blend of sertanejo (Brazilian country music) and funk, after her 2021 single "Boiadeira" went viral. Her hit "Pipoco" made her a household name across Brazil, and in 2024 she won a Latin Grammy for Best Sertaneja Music Album.
