chissenefregawho cares

Chissenefrega is a colloquial and somewhat informal Italian expression that literally translates to "who cares" or "who gives a damn". It's a contraction of "chi se ne frega".

In the context of the song, it appears in the line "E i 'chissenefrega' affondano in un mare / Di momenti che non sai dimenticare" (And the 'who cares' drown in a sea / Of moments you can't forget). This highlights the struggle between trying to dismiss painful memories and the overwhelming power of those unforgettable moments, making it a very relatable and emotionally charged word.

E' L'amore invites us into a quiet, late-night apartment where every creak of the stairs and hush of the telephone feels louder than the city outside. Adriano Celentano and Mina paint a scene of restless hearts: pride hides “under the bed,” memories cling “like a nail in the temple,” and unanswered calls throb in the darkness. This is love as obsession, a flame that both burns the soul and keeps it alive, refusing to let the singer forget the moments that once felt endless.

Yet behind the torment glows a stubborn hope. The repeated refrain reminds us that love may wound, but it also saves, turning even a silence into proof that feelings still exist. Without her, life feels empty, but the very ache proves that the heart is still beating. The song is a moody, cinematic reminder that love’s power lies in its contradictions: it hurts, it heals, it refuses to leave, and in doing so, it keeps us alive.

Adriano Celentano is an Italian singer, actor, and filmmaker, born in Milan on January 6, 1938, and known affectionately as "il Molleggiato" ("the springy one") for his loose, bouncy dance moves.

He started out as a watchmaker before launching his music career in 1959, playing rock and roll alongside future stars like Giorgio Gaber. Inspired by Elvis Presley, he helped bring rock and roll to Italy and went on to sell more than 150 million records, making him one of the country's best-selling artists ever.

Beyond music, Celentano built a huge career in film, appearing in dozens of Italian comedies and topping the box office through the 1970s and 80s. His playful, high-energy style runs through his music as much as his films.
